Recently, Tengyi received an exciting on-site update from one of our key clients in Nigeria, showcasing the active installation phase of our customized Grounding Transformers (Earthing Transformers).

The Solution: Ensuring Grid Safety

For this specific project in Nigeria, grid stability and fault protection were top priorities. The client selected Tengyi’s Grounding Transformers (commonly referred to as “GT” by our clients) to provide a vital artificial neutral point for their ungrounded power system. This ensures that in the event of a line-to-ground fault, the system can safely dissipate the fault current, protecting other expensive substation equipment and ensuring the safety of personnel.

Real-Time Customer Feedback

This week, the project’s lead engineer reached out directly via WhatsApp to share progress videos from the dusty, sun-baked construction site. Accompanied by the message, “This is the site we are using your GT,” the update provided a fantastic real-world glimpse of our equipment being integrated into the local grid infrastructure.

The client also shared a proud team photo of their local engineers and installation crew standing on-site in front of the primary substation equipment. The working conditions in West Africa can be challenging, characterized by high temperatures and dust. Tengyi’s Grounding Transformers are specifically designed and manufactured to withstand these harsh environmental factors, ensuring long-term, maintenance-free operation.
